
We the members of Collinsville Fire / Rescue would like to take this time to give you a brief history of our Department.
Collinsville Fire / Rescue was founded in 1928, providing fire, EMS and rescue to the one hundred square miles, including Grayson and Cooke counties. During the last 77 years of our Departments history we have had only Ten Chiefs including our current Chief. Between the years of 1928 and 1962 our Department had four Chiefs P. Farr, M. Carney, L L. Owens and C. Green. The years 1962 to 1992 our Department had only one Chief, which is also the longest active member in the Departments history joining the Department. in 1960 then earning the Rank Chief in 1962 Chief Marvin Adams serviced as Chief till 1992 as one of the most Honorable members of this Departments history, and still to this day is currently a active member. 1992 – 2003 our Department has had four active Chiefs 1992 – 1994 Damon V. Stewart, 1994 – 1995 Grady Carney, 1995 – 2000 Gene Cox, 2000 – 2006 Kelly Rollins and our current Chief Benny McKee. Collinsville Fire / Rescue currently has 19 active members made up of one Chief, one Asst. Chief, three Captains and fourteen dedicated and committed Firefighter’s with four trucks servicing our one hundred square mile district. Starting in 1928 with a 1928 American LaFrance Fire Truck our Department has moved forward with the times with the current fleet of 2003 Ferrara Tanker / Pumper, 2000 Ferrara Engine, 1999 Ford F550 Booster, 2005 Ford F350 4x4 Brush Truck and 1996 Chevy 4x4 Suburban used as a Battalion / EMS response unit. Collinsville Fire / Rescue is a single Station Department with our newest Station built in 1998.
